These terms explain the conditions for using Jolbox.com and its free online tools. Read them alongside each calculator’s instructions and limitations.
1. Using the website
By using Jolbox, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the website. These terms do not remove rights or protections that applicable law does not allow to be excluded.
2. Services and access
Jolbox provides calculators, unit converters, generators and explanatory content for everyday tasks and projects. The tools currently offered are free to use and do not require a Jolbox account. Some functions, including calculations and copying results, rely on browser features and JavaScript.
Features, supported units and input limits are described on individual tool pages. The website does not provide a professional advisory relationship or a service contract for a particular project.
3. Informational results and accuracy
Results are informational calculation aids. Their usefulness depends on the inputs, selected units, formulas, rounding and assumptions. Models simplify real conditions, and errors or omissions can occur. Jolbox does not guarantee that a result is complete, error-free or suitable for every use.
Check your inputs, confirm the units and review the explanation before relying on a result. Independently verify calculations that affect an important purchase, budget, project or other decision. You remain responsible for how you use a result.
4. Home improvement and material estimates
Paint, mulch, siding and roofing outputs are planning estimates, not guaranteed purchase quantities, installation instructions or statements that a material is suitable for a structure. Actual needs can vary with site measurements, surface conditions, geometry, cuts, waste, product coverage and installation methods.
Check manufacturer information and actual site conditions. Arrange suitable professional advice when the work requires it. The tools do not inspect a building, verify structural safety or establish compliance with building requirements.
5. Household and financial calculations
Fuel, energy, water and rent calculations illustrate arithmetic based on the amounts you enter. They do not guarantee an actual bill or saving, determine a legal obligation, or provide individualized financial, tax or legal advice. Fees, pricing tiers, contractual terms and changing conditions may not be included.
For rent splitting, choose a method by agreement with the people involved and review your lease separately. No displayed allocation is represented as legally required or objectively fairest.
6. Permitted and prohibited use
You may use the tools for personal, educational and ordinary project-planning purposes, and copy your calculated results for those purposes. Do not misuse the website by attempting unauthorized access, introducing harmful code, disrupting availability or using it for unlawful activity.
Do not present a Jolbox result as a certification, professional assessment or endorsement that the tool does not provide. Reporting a suspected error is welcome; provide enough detail to reproduce the calculation without unnecessary sensitive information.
7. Website content and intellectual property
Website software, text, design and other materials may be protected by intellectual-property laws. Rights in third-party names or linked materials remain with their respective rights holders. Using a tool or copying a result does not transfer ownership of the website or grant unrestricted rights to republish its content.
Do not remove ownership notices, copy the site in bulk for republication or imply an affiliation or endorsement without permission. This does not restrict uses that applicable law permits. Contact [email protected] about other uses.
8. Availability and changes
Jolbox may change, correct, add, limit or remove tools and content, or experience interruptions. Continuous availability, compatibility with every browser and retention of previous results are not guaranteed. Keep your own record of information you need; calculator entries are not saved to a Jolbox account.
9. External websites and third-party services
Links to external references and services are provided for convenience. Their content, terms and privacy practices are controlled by their operators. Review those terms before using an external service. An external link does not imply that Jolbox has verified every claim made by that website.
If advertising is introduced, an advertisement does not by itself constitute a Jolbox recommendation or guarantee. The Privacy Policy distinguishes current website behavior from planned advertising.
10. Warranties
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the website and its results are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties as to accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted operation. This limitation does not exclude any warranty, right or obligation that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Responsibility and liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Jolbox is not responsible for losses resulting from reliance on a calculation or estimate without appropriate verification, or from service interruption or third-party websites. The scope of any limitation depends on the applicable law and circumstances.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
12. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the website changes. The last-updated date identifies the current published version. Review the terms when using the website, especially before relying on a new or changed tool.
